The government last week said that it received an “enthusiastic response” to the tender for four land parcels in the Hong Kong-Shenzhen Innovation and Technology Park (HSITP), with a better-than-expected six bids submitted. The sites are earmarked for laboratories and talent accommodation, with a combined gross floor area exceeding 76,000 square metres. “The Loop Hong Kong Park Company is considering advancing the announcement of the tender results, as it aims to speed up the hardware developments of the park to draw crowds and build up popularity,” a government insider said on Monday. According to the source, five companies submitted six bids. Of these, three specialise in cutting-edge technologies including chips, artificial intelligence (AI) and quantum technology.
