AMC to screen live concerts through Arena One partnership

AMC Theatres has partnered with live entertainment technology company Arena One to introduce real-time concert events in movie theaters across the United States. This new initiative will bring live performances from artists such as Bebe Rexha, Paris Hilton, and Maren Morris to more than 300 AMC locations in 89 markets, starting in June. The concerts will feature advanced technology that transmits sound from audiences nationwide back to the performers, creating an interactive experience that blends live music with cinematic presentation. Tickets for these events will range from $40 to $75, depending on the artist and market. The partnership represents a novel hybrid between traditional film screenings and live simulcast events, offering audiences a fresh incentive to visit theaters. Arena One has developed a cinematic stage equipped with cameras and spatial audio capture designed specifically for seamless translation to the big screen. This setup allows artists to create unique performances tailored for the medium rather than simply adapting existing tours. AMC CEO Adam Aron highlighted the potential of this collaboration to redefine live entertainment by combining the communal experience of concerts with the premium audiovisual environment of AMC theaters. This move is part of AMC’s broader strategy to diversify its offerings and enhance the moviegoing experience amid ongoing challenges in the theatrical industry. The domestic box office continues to recover from pandemic-related disruptions and Hollywood labor strikes, which have limited film releases. AMC has previously expanded its premium formats, including IMAX, Dolby, 4DX, and ScreenX, to attract audiences. By integrating live concerts into its programming, AMC aims to drive foot traffic and revenue while providing music fans with a new way to enjoy live performances in a comfortable, high-quality setting.
