Lego’s New ‘Mandalorian & Grogu’ Set Confirms a Very Silly Name Change

Lego has announced a new set tied to the upcoming film "The Mandalorian and Grogu," titled the “Hutt Palace Sentry Droid Showdown.” The set contains 415 pieces and features key characters including Din Djarin (the Mandalorian), Grogu, and the Hutt Cartel’s three-armed sentry droid with a stud shooter. Players can recreate a battle scene from the movie’s final trailer, where Din and Grogu face off against sentry droids, and also encounter Embo, a Clone Wars-era bounty hunter, along with his anooba companion Keibu. The inclusion of Embo and his new pet reflects canonical developments from Star Wars lore, particularly from the novel "Aftermath: Empire’s End," which explains the absence of Embo’s original pet, Marrok. This update also aligns with other Star Wars projects such as "Ahsoka" and "Maul: Shadow Lord," which feature an Inquisitor sharing the name Embo, highlighting the interconnected storytelling overseen by Dave Filoni, a key creative figure in the franchise. The set’s design encourages fans to either replicate the movie’s fight scene or invent their own scenarios involving these characters. Scheduled for release on August 1, the Lego set will retail for £44.99 (approximately $53). This launch follows the film’s debut on May 22, allowing fans to engage with the story through interactive play months after viewing. The set adds to Lego’s expanding Star Wars lineup, which continues to appeal to collectors and enthusiasts eager to explore new narratives and characters from the evolving franchise.
