Police make murder arrest after woman, 90, dies in house fire

Police have arrested a woman on suspicion of murder after a woman in her 90s died in a house fire.Gloucestershire Constabulary said it was called to Elmgrove Road West in Hardwicke just before 4am on Sunday after reports of a fire.A woman in her 90s was found unconscious within the property.Emergency services rushed to perform CPR, but the woman was later pronounced dead. TRENDING Stories Videos Your Say A woman in her 60s, from Gloucester, has now been arrested in connection to the fire.She remains in police custody for questioning on suspicion of murder and arson with intent to endanger life.Both women knew each other and it is believed to be an isolated incident, police said.A spokeswoman for Gloucester Police said: "Officers attended the scene along with crews from the fire and ambulance services."The property was searched and a woman in her 90s was found unconscious inside."Emergency services performed CPR but despite their best efforts, the woman was sadly pronounced dead.
