Wikipedia editors plot strike and banner sabotage after Wikimedia layoffs

One of the dismissed engineers had created the union’s page on Wikimedia Meta, leading to accusations from some editors that the layoffs were an attempt to undermine union activity. The WMF denied these claims, stating that the restructuring was unrelated to union discussions and that no staff members were terminated for union participation. The foundation also emphasized it would respect any legal process should staff pursue formal union recognition.
