Wrestler Benjamin ‘Pac’ Satterley dies aged 40

Professional wrestler Benjamin Satterley, known as Pac, has died at the age of 40. Satterley’s sudden death was confirmed (AEW) on Sunday evening. They were ‘saddened to announce the passing of Benjamin Satterley aka Pac.’ The Newcastle native who built an international career had taken part in an AEW event in Chicago on Saturday. They said: ‘All Elite Wrestling is saddened to announce the passing of Benjamin Satterley, aka Pac. A native of Newcastle upon Tyne, England, Satterley began his wrestling career in 2004 and went on to perform for wrestling organisations all over the world, captivating fans with innovative high-flying moves and incredible in-ring ability. ‘Pac signed with All Elite Wrestling in 2019 and held multiple AEW Championships and competed in some of the most memorable matches in AEW history. ‘Our condolences go out to Satterley’s family, friends and fans.’ His cause of death has not been publicly revealed. Satterley was known in the world of wrestling after taking part in events like WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment), Japan’s pro wrestling and Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre in Mexico before joining AEW. At WWE, Satterley performed under the ring name Adrian Neville, later shortened to Neville, chosen as a nod to his favourite band The Specials and its member Neville Staple. Satterley was a lifelong fan of Newcastle United FC. Tributes have poured in from the wrestling community after the news of Satterley’s death emerged. Bryce Remsburg, an AEW referee and Satterley’s friend, said on X: ‘To many, he was a b****d. ‘To my kids, he was Ben – who brought them Kinder Eggs from the UK, who converted them to Newcastle fans. ‘To me, he was an incredible friend for 20 years. Watching a Black Arrow from inside the ring still takes my breath away.’ ‘The best of us.’ American wrestler Enzo Amore, known as REAL1, paid tribute to his ‘best friend.’ He said: ‘My best friend has passed on, I am absolutely in shock. My prayers are with his wife and family. I’m going to miss you Pac, thank you for being a friend.’
